Our personnel strive to maintain the highest of standards of our profession. We have approximately 20 employees including three Veterinarians, three Registered Veterinary Technicians and a staff of well-trained Receptionists and animal handlers, all dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care for you and your pets.
In addition, all doctors and employees receive continuing education to keep current with all of the advancements in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Steven Sawdai
Dr. Sawdai graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. He grew up in Forest Park and started working at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital while in middle school. He met Wendy, his future wife, who was also working at Mt Pleasant and attending Ohio State. Dr. Sawdai and Dr. Wendy married while in Veterinary School. Twenty-six years later they have a daughter, Lizzie, graduating high school and attending OSU in the fall. Their younger child, Daniel, will be a freshman at Talawanda High School next year. Dr. Sawdai enjoys running and ice hockey and spending time with his family.
Dr. Wendy Sawdai
Dr. Wendy graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She grew up in Ross, Ohio, and worked at Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital during high school and college. Upon graduation, she practiced at a small animal hospital in Hamilton and a mixed animal practice (working on horses, alpacas, and other farm pets) in Shandon, Ohio. Wendy took the next 14 years off to raise a family and joined Mt Pleasant in the summer of 2016. Her furry family includes dogs, cats, horses, and goats. Dr. Wendy enjoys working out at Sampson’s Gym and teaching Sunday school at church. She thoroughly enjoyed the years spent raising a family before returning to practice.
Dr. Brady Hall
Dr. Hall has been with Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital since his graduation from The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Originally from North College Hill/College Hill, Dr. Hall attended St. Xavier H.S. and Xavier University before pursuing his veterinary degree. Dr. Hall has a special interest in diagnostic imaging/ultrasound, but enjoys the variety of cases that general practice provides. When not at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Teresa), son (Gabriel) and their two dogs (Charleston and Keegan). In his free time, Dr. Hall enjoys working in the yard and garden, caring for his aquariums, and playing piano or guitar.
Danielle – Registered Veterinary Technician / Office Manager
Danielle graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and from Columbus State with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been with Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 2015. Danielle is a lifelong animal lover with 5 pets of her own: 3 rescue cats (Simba, Hershel, and Avery) and 2 dogs (Monte and Harley). She enjoys spending time with her family and working out at a local cross-fit gym.
Diane – Registered Veterinary Technician
Diane graduated from U.C.’s Veterinary Technician program in 1979 and has worked for Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital for over 25 years. After graduation, she worked in medical research – first at Children’s Hospital and then at U.C.’s College of Pharmacy for 12 years. At one time, she showed dogs – cocker spaniels and then golden retrievers with hopes to breed them. Unfortunately, that dream has been on hold while she raised three children. When she chose this career, Diane’s intention was always to work with pets and their families. Mt Pleasant has allowed her to use her skills and experience to the fullest. She currently has a cocker spaniel named Charlie and two cats, Tabitha and Pyewacket.
Rose – Registered Veterinary Technician
Rose graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2010 and has been with Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital since 2012. Rose developed a love of animals growing up on her family farm near Millville. Currently, Rose has 2 horses, Joker and Jasper, and a yellow lab named Oaklee. Rose enjoys spending time with her husband and family doing outdoor activities.
Leah – Registered Veterinary Technician
Leah Graduated from Brown Mackie in 2010 with an associates degree in Applied Science. She later went on to get her RVT license. She is very passionate about helping as many animals as possible. She has a husband of 15 years, a daughter, two step sons and two dogs.She loves to travel and spend time with friends,family and her fur babies.
Teresa – Receptionist
Teresa has been a receptionist at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 1988. She has a true passion for her job and enjoys interacting with all of the cats and dogs on a daily basis. She has 3 children and 9 beautiful grandchildren, including two sets of twins. She has 2 rescue kitties, Cora and Olive, which she loves dearly. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, working in her yard, traveling and reading.
Sharon – Receptionist
Sharon has worked at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 1991. She is married and has 3 children. She loves dogs and began breeding Shelties for a short time. She now has 3 grandchildren that she loves spending time with and enjoys teaching in Children’s Ministry at her church. She still has two Shelties, Allie and Sammy, and a Yorkie mix named Tazzi.
Linda – Receptionist
Linda has been a part-time receptionist Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 1998 where she enjoys working with animals and clients alike. She has always had a passion for cats. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and 5 grandchildren.
Jillian – Receptionist
Jillian has been with Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 2013. She is a very reliable and outgoing person who loves working with both animals and people. She has been in the veterinary field for 7 years. She began her career in the veterinary field because of her passion for helping animals. She currently works part-time at the front desk and enjoys time at home as a wife and mother to her 2 daughters. She also has a crazy yellow lab puppy named Hope.
Lisa – Receptionist
Lisa joined the Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital team in 2017. She came from a banking background. Her love of animals and helping others has brought her here. She is a wife, mother of 2 and grandmother of 3. In her spare time, she loves the quality time spent with family and friends.
Teresa – Receptionist
Teresa started working at Mt. Pleasant in 2007 as a kennel assistant. Over the years she transitioned to the front desk, which she absolutely loves! She enjoys working with both the clients and patients and getting to know them on an individual basis. In her free time, Teresa enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Hall, and their son, Gabriel. Her passion outside of the hospital is flowers- she loves tending to her gardens while their dogs romp outside in the sunshine!
Nikki – Receptionist
Nikki has been working in the vet field since she was 15 years old. She started off in a kennel when she was younger and is now is working at Mt. Pleasant as a receptionist. She has three amazing daughters that attend Cincinnati Christian Schools. She also has 5 dogs (2 golden doodles and 3 rescue lab mixes)! Her and her better half love spending time with their girls and fur babies!
Debby- Surgical Assistant/ Veterinary Assistant
Debby started with Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital in 1971 and has been a full-time employee for the past 25 years. She is currently the surgical assistant. She loves working with animals. Debby has a large 4 legged family at home. She has Labs, Corgis, Chihuahuas, Jack Russell mixes and Dachshund mixes.
Debby has 3 grown children and 1 granddaughter.
Judy -Veterinary Assistant
Judy has been at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital for 20 years. She is the mother of 3 grown children with 3 grandchildren. She enjoys watching TV and eating interesting foods. Her furry family includes 5 cats and 3 dogs. Judy enjoys working with animals and running around with her grandkids.
Mollie – Veterinary Assistant
Mollie is in her fourth year at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Mollie started working at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital the summer before her senior year of high school and has been with us ever since. Mollie has a chocolate lab named Mabel, two mini horses named Dusty and Willie, and a cat named Clementine. In her free time, Mollie enjoys hiking, camping, running and working on a variety of art projects. Mollie is looking forward to her graduation in 2019 and fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Shelby – Veterinary Assistant
Shelby has been a veterinary assistant at Mt Pleasant since 2011. Her passion is working with animals. She went to Butler Tech her junior and senior year of high school for Veterinary Science. She rescued her cat, Squirt when he was only 3 days old! She also rescued her loving Pit Bull, Scarlet, at 9 months of age.
Taylor – Veterinary Assistant
Taylor is currently attending Miami University and will graduate in December 2018. She is majoring in psychology and hopes to pursue her interest in social work in her postgraduate studies. Taylor has been a part of the Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital family since 2012. In her free time, Taylor enjoys spending time outdoors, volunteering and fostering pets for the Animal Adoption Foundation. Taylor has always had a huge love for animals. She currently has a pit bull, Cheyanne, and four cats: Kaia, Angel, Windsor and Tess.
Lizzie – Veterinary Assistant
Lizzie is a high school senior graduating spring of 2017 with plans to attend The Ohio State University with a pre-med track. Lizzie literally grew up at Mt Pleasant helping her parents (Dr. Sawdai and Dr. Wendy) since she was in diapers. Lizzie is an avid runner and has participated in cross country and track all through middle and high school. She especially loves her Standard Poodle, Puck.
Megan – Veterinary Assistant
Megan is currently attending Fairfield High School. Megan has always been fond of animals and knew
right away she wanted a career working with them. She is a competitive cheerleader and in her free time, she loves spending time in the gym. She also loves taking walks with her furry best friend, a heeler-mix named Katie. Megan has rescued two kittens: Izzy and Pancake.
Hannah – Veterinary Assistant
Hannah is currently attending Ross High School and will graduate in 2018. She hopes to attend The Ohio State University with a major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is involved in FFA, National Honor Society, Volunteer Advisory Board, Soccer, and Softball. She has one cat named Oreo.
