Our personnel strive to maintain the highest of standards of our profession.
We have approximately 20 employees including three Veterinarians, three Registered Veterinary Technicians and a staff of well-trained Receptionists and animal handlers, all dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care for you and your pets.
In addition, all doctors and employees receive continuing education to keep current with all of the advancements in veterinary medicine.
OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Steven Sawdai
Dr. Sawdai graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. He grew up in Forest Park and started working at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital while in middle school. He met Wendy, his future wife, who was also working at Mt Pleasant and attending Ohio State. Dr. Sawdai and Dr. Wendy married while in Veterinary School. Thirty years later they have a daughter, Lizzie, who is in medical school and engaged to be married. Their younger child, Daniel, is an engineering/ pre-med student at The Ohio State University. Dr. Sawdai enjoys running and ice hockey and spending time with his family.
Dr. Wendy Sawdai
Dr. Wendy graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She grew up in Ross, Ohio, and worked at Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital during high school and college. Upon graduation, she practiced at a small animal hospital in Hamilton and a mixed animal practice (working on horses, alpacas, and other farm pets) in Shandon, Ohio. Wendy took the next 14 years off to raise a family and joined Mt Pleasant in the summer of 2016. Her furry family includes dogs, cats, and horses. Dr. Wendy enjoys exercise, working out on her Peleton and teaching Sunday school at church. She thoroughly enjoyed the years spent raising a family before returning to practice.
Dr. Brady Hall
Dr. Hall has been with Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital since his graduation from The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Originally from North College Hill/College Hill, Dr. Hall attended St. Xavier H.S. and Xavier University before pursuing his veterinary degree. Dr. Hall has a special interest in diagnostic imaging/ultrasound, but enjoys the variety of cases that general practice provides. When not at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Teresa), son (Gabriel) and their two dogs (Charleston and Keegan). In his free time, Dr. Hall enjoys working in the yard and garden, caring for his aquariums, and playing piano or guitar.
Dr. Mollie Burwinkel
Dr. Mollie Burwinkel is a 2019 graduate of the The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is beginning her career at Mt. Pleasant, although she has worked at our hospital as an assistant since she was in high school. Dr. Burwinkel grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Shandon, Ohio and attended Ross High School. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree at The University of Findlay before going to vet school. Dr. Burwinkel has a special interest in behavior medicine and low-stress handling methods. In her free time, Dr. B enjoys drawing, running, camping, and spending time with her dog, cat, horses, and cows.
OUR STAFF
Danielle – Registered Veterinary Technician / Office Manager
Danielle graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and from Columbus State with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been with Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital since 2015. Danielle is a lifelong animal lover with 5 pets of her own: 3 rescue cats (Simba, Hershel, and Avery) and 2 dogs (Monte and Harley). She enjoys spending time with her family and working out at a local cross-fit gym.
Amy – Assistant Office Manager
Amy is a receptionist and Assistant Office Manager who joined practice in November 2020. She comes to Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field, and has enjoyed working in a variety of roles during that time. She is passionate about animal welfare and rescue, and spent several years actively volunteering for a Boxer Rescue. She enjoys spending time with her pets (currently a Boxer, a pit bull mix and 4 kitties) doing outdoorsy activities and traveling.
Diane – Registered Veterinary Technician
Diane graduated from U.C.’s Veterinary Technician program in 1979 and has worked for Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital for over 25 years. After graduation, she worked in medical research – first at Children’s Hospital and then at U.C.’s College of Pharmacy for 12 years. At one time, she showed dogs – cocker spaniels and then golden retrievers with hopes to breed them. Unfortunately, that dream has been on hold while she raised three children. When she chose this career, Diane’s intention was always to work with pets and their families. Mt Pleasant has allowed her to use her skills and experience to the fullest. She currently has a cocker spaniel named Charlie and two cats, Tabitha and Pyewacket.
Leah – Registered Veterinary Technician
Leah Graduated from Brown Mackie in 2010 with an associates degree in Applied Science. She later went on to get her RVT license. She is very passionate about helping as many animals as possible. She has a daughter, 2 dogs named Mister and Missy and a cat named Coconut.
Kellie – Veterinary Technician
Kellie started at Mt Pleasant in 2022. She started her animal career as a zookeeper after graduating with a degree in Zoo Science and Field Biology. She started working in the veterinary field in 2018. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter and pets.
Alexis – RVT Student
Alexis joined Mt. Pleasant in 2019. She is planning on attending Penn Foster College to get her degree as a Registered Veterinary Technician. In her free time, she likes to go fishing, hiking with her pups in the woods, and spending as much time outside. She has 2 dogs: one is a pitbull named Hazzel and the other is a Brittany Spaniel named Tucker.
Olivia C. – RVT Student
Olivia is a receptionist at our hospital and enjoys competing in rodeo with her horses in her free time. Her favorite things to do are tending to her farm life at home with her boyfriend and hanging out for her fur babies. She has 4 dogs: 2 Border Collies, one German Shepherd and one Golden Bernese Mountain dog. She is currently putting herself through Veterinary Technician school.
Abigail – RVT Student

Nikki – Receptionist
Nikki has been working in the vet field since she was 15 years old. She started off in a kennel when she was younger and is now is working at Mt. Pleasant as a receptionist. She has three amazing daughters that attend Cincinnati Christian Schools. She also has 5 dogs (2 golden doodles and 3 rescue lab mixes)! Her and her better half love spending time with their girls and fur babies!
Jessica – Receptionist
Jess has been a receptionist at MPAH since August 2020. She has fulfilled a variety of roles in veterinary medicine since she was 16. Jess is happily married to her childhood friend since 2018. Together they have 3 children ages 17, 12, and 9. She has two dogs, Hank & Isis; 2 cats, Mr. Brown & Flame, and a bearded dragon Peaches. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, gardening, and growing her house plant & cacti collection.
Kristie – Receptionist
Kristie has been in the veterinary field for 10 years, and recently joined our team in July 2021. She is a wife, stepmom, and step-grandma. She enjoys spending time with her family but would prefer to be on her couch with her fur babies which include 2 dogs, Champ and Katy, and 3 cats Dizzy, Duncan, and Abigail. She also loves church festivals, traveling, and country concerts.
Lisa – Receptionist
Lisa is a receptionist at Mt. Pleasant. In her spare time, she enjoys time spent with her family and friends.
She loves to help with the care of the fur babies that are entrusted to Mt. Pleasant. She also loves to spoil her baby boy, Simon!
Mary – Receptionist
Mary comes to Mt Pleasant with 3½ years of veterinary experience. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and her 2 fur babies. She also enjoys various sports.
Debby – Surgical Assistant/ Veterinary Assistant
Debby started with Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital in 1971 and has been a full-time employee for the past 25 years. She is currently the surgical assistant. She loves working with animals. Debby has a large 4 legged family at home. She has Labs, Corgis, Chihuahuas, Jack Russell mixes and Dachshund mixes. Debby has 3 grown children and 1 granddaughter.
Judy – Veterinary Assistant
Judy has been at Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital for 20 years. She is the mother of 3 grown children with 3 grandchildren. She enjoys watching TV and eating interesting foods. Her furry family includes 5 cats and 2 dogs. Judy enjoys working with animals and running around with her grandkids.
Shelby – Veterinary Assistant
Shelby has been a veterinary assistant at Mt Pleasant since 2011. She graduated from the Veterinary Science Program at Butler Tech in 2012. Her passion is helping and working with animals. Shelby has 4 pets of her own, 2 cats and 2 dogs. 3 out of 4 she rescued. Squirt (cat) rescued at 3 days old. Her loving Pitbull Scarlet at 9 months, Cash (cat) rescued at 4 months. She also adopted her Rottweiler pup Brutus.
Hannah – Veterinary Assistant
Hannah is currently attending Ross High School and will graduate in 2018. She hopes to attend The Ohio State University with a major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is involved in FFA, National Honor Society, Volunteer Advisory Board, Soccer, and Softball. She has one cat named Oreo.
Tara – Veterinary Assistant
Tara is currently in her senior year of high school and plans to attend Miami University in the fall for veterinary school. Tara has two dogs a beagle named Rudy and a lab named Princess. Tara has a great interest in traveling and learning about psychology. Tara’s hobbies include watching documentaries, reading, and physical fitness.
Jayson – Veterinary Assistant
Jayson is an undergraduate student at Miami University studying to apply to Veterinary School. He and his family have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 5 birds. When he is not at school or working, Jayson enjoys reading, watching movies, photography, playing video games, showing his Minature Wirehaired Dachshund in AKC conformation shows and spending time with his friends, pets and family,
Alexis – Veterinary Assistant
Alexis joined Mt. Pleasant in June of 2020. She is currently a senior at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Biological Sciences and will graduate in Spring 2022. After graduating, she hopes to continue her education in graduate school.
Nikki – Veterinary Assistant
Nikki graduated from Butler Tech in 2019 from the veterinary science program. Nikki has enjoyed working with animals for as long as they can remember. When not working Nikki volunteers in helping to train service animals for 4 Paws for Ability. Nikki also enjoys reading and spending time with family. Nikki has 3 pets of their own, Korra and Peeta, two very loving papillions and a feisty tortie cat named Hex.
Rachel – Veterinary Assistant
Rachel has been a veterinary assistant at our hospital since September 2022. She enjoys riding her horse Buddy and hanging out with her dogs and reptiles. She owns 2 dogs, 9 reptiles and a horse. She hopes to become a registered veterinary technician.
Abbie – Veterinary Assistant
Abbie is currently in her junior year of high school. She’s been a veterinary assistant at Mt. Pleasant since September 2022. She owns 2 dogs and 2 cats. In her spare time she enjoys competitive dancing and hanging out with her friends.
